Stacks Forum Activity & SIP Surfacing
- HeroGamer monitors Stacks Forum daily for relevant SIP discussions.
- Encouraged builders to post SIP ideas and product suggestions on the forum.
- Noted increased activity on the forum with daily posts/comments.
- PeaceLove scheduled interview with BTC Pay Server founder on DeOrganized.
- Potential to solve issues related to the Pillar project.
Timothy’s Security Traits SIP Proposal
- Timothy from “Stacks Ascent” Program proposed standardizing security patterns for Clarity contracts.
- Building this framework would allow Stacks developers to focus purely on their unique business logic rather than the “plumbing” of security.
- It would also significantly lower the cost and time of smart contract audits
- As auditors would only need to verify that a contract implements a trusted standard trait rather than reviewing custom code for every project.
- Proposal aims to prevent inconsistencies and provide battle-tested patterns.
- Clarity uses “composition” instead of “inheritance”; proposal to be phased.
- Positive community feedback so far; Dan Trevino endorsed the proposal.
StacksPay V2 Development
- Dan Trevino updating StacksPay (V1) to a mobile-first approach (V2).
- V2 includes SIP-030 primitives: get address, sign message, send transaction.
- Uses Lightning’s LNURL flow with secure HTTP calls.
- Implementation in TypeScript initially, with Python and Rust to follow.
- HeroGamer recommends making a new Forum topic for V2, linking back to the original forum.
- Keeping SIP Repo’s PR the same (don’t create a new PR for V2), so devs already chimed in can continue on from the same conversation and get pinged.
Rapha’s Fiat OnRamp proposal
- Pillar project needs streamlined fiat-to-Bitcoin-to-Stacks onboarding.
- Current process involves too much friction; proposed credit card to passkey wallet.
- Challenges with Coinbase Pay integration; alternative approach suggested.
Xenetron’s SIP Proposal Path
- Werner (SIP Editor) reviewed Xenitron’s SIP PR and left detailed comments.
- Xenitron to address comments and update PR for further review.
- No point CAB members vote on it if there are still many outstanding questions/comments.
NotebookLM Demo
- HeroGamer demonstrated Google’s NotebookLM for SIP self-education and analysis.
- Can add multiple sources to create a contextual database.
- Useful for generating infographics and summaries from SIP proposals.
Things to Celebrate
- Increased activity on Stacks Forum.
- Progress on Timothy’s security traits proposal.
