1. Agenda Overview

2. Key Meeting Highlights

  • SIP-033: Clarity v4 Voting Results

    • Final tallies show 209M+ votes, with all real votes supporting activation; the 250 “No” STX was a test.

    • Activation Status updates and audit script are included in the PR.

    • Community preparation through SIP calls, Spaces, and DeFi shows was effective.

  • SIP Bounties & Engagement

    • The group discussed expanding SIP content creation bounties to support education and visibility.

    • The SIP-33 bounty through Stacks Guild saw strong participation.

    • Potential alignment with the Community Marketing WG was noted.

  • Reputation & Voting Systems

    • The reputation layer concept continues to evolve, tying activity to governance participation.

    • SBT-style non-transferable records were considered as a voting history mechanism. (idea. But probably SBT not the best implementation)

    • Future dashboards may help present wallet-level participation.

  • Forum Accessibility

    • Users noted delays in forum comment approvals. (non-issue after investigation, but will continue to monitor)

    • A Reddit-style companion space could improve open discussion. (idea)

    • Forum remains the primary reference point for official SIP discussions.

  • Larry’s SIP-03X: Bitcoin Address proposal Support

    • Boom Wallet is implementing parts of the proposal for its next release.

    • Leather Wallet is a likely next adopter; Xverse timelines remain longer-term.

    • Consolidating demos and outreach materials will support further integration.

  • SIP Marketing & Visibility

    • Interest in creating a SIP visual identity: logo, graphics, templates, mascot.

    • Community-driven content may be supported with future bounties.

    • 2026 viewed as a good year to formalize SIP comms. process.

  • Governance Perspectives

    • Participants shared views on governance around transparency and group decision-making.

    • Emphasis on predictable, AI-readable SIP documentation and workflows.

    • DeGrants oversight structures may be revisited for improved transparency. As a DeGrants CAB or WG. (idea)

  • Future SIP Timeline

    • SIP-032 Improved Stacking - not expected in 2025 due to holiday slowdown; 2026 is more realistic.

    • Needs identified around consistent SIP social promotion and role clarity.

  • Governance Definition Discussion

    • GPSC: governance = group decision-making.

    • Haddy: everyone having a voice; shared responsibilities across Foundation + Stacks Labs.

    • Hero: governance encompasses SIPs, DeGrants, node decentralization, mining decentralization, treasury oversight.

    • Mental framework of “Working Groups” act as “Think tanks” feeding into governance process.

    • Foundation is optimizing itself right now with governance as a strategic focus.

  • Future SIP Timeline & Process

    • SIP-032 expected around 2026, unlike in 2025 due Xmas 1 month away people might be winding down .

    • Need clearer roles around SIP social promotion.

    • Potential for a formalized DeGrants oversight committee model.

    • Maintain checks and balances without reducing efficiency.

    • Ensure SIP notes and documentations are AI-readable for long-term utility.

:speech_balloon: Key Speakers Insights

Great call!

Governance is incredibly important to any ecosystem. I am looking forward to seeing a balance being reached, between innovation and security, to supporting a robust chain.

I think a Grants (Impact) CAB could help to place focus on where maximum growth impact could be delivered, increasing the talent (as well as acquisition and retention) and with the all important ‘checks and balances’ aspect. Plus, what SIPs might be required to expand the ecosystem.

Other key areas are marketing/awareness and education outreach programs.

A org chart for the ecosystem would be great, so as to better understand the relationship between the Foundation, Stacks Labs and others important stakeholders… especially from a governance perspective.
