Unable to restore into Chrome

I’ve been using Firefox but for reasons unrelated need to switch to Chrome for a while. While attempting to restore my identity in Chrome, after filling in the passphrase and the password (I tried both selecting a new one, and using a previous one) and clicking “Restore Account,” the page does not advance. I’ve added a screenshot of the js console.

2016 mbp w/ high sierra 10.13
Chrome v.62.0.3202.62
Latest Blockstack

Is this a known issue? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance!

I have the same problem. I use Safari first. I can’t restore key into Chrome.

@jabowocky @nguyenloc can you both share what versions of Blockstack you are using? We would love to get this working for you.

I can’t seem to find how to check… I had 18.3 installed, but I only know that because I was prompted to upgrade to v19 just now when I quit, and it mentioned 18.3…

For good measure I tried again with v19 and I still cannot restore into Chrome.

I use Blockstack version: 0.19.0

@nguyenloc @jabowocky This is likely an issue with your browser cache. Please do a hard refresh of the Blockstack page after installing from scratch.

Yeah, It works. But my setup is gone. e.g. username, bio, trust level :sweat_smile:

Same for me. I was able to get back in, even auth here in the forum correctly.

However, I’ve lost my ID, my verifications, and other data.

Since you get back in, that means you already got back your ID. Anyhow, I think we uploaded other data to somewhere else (e.g. Blockstack cloud).

Fair point. I meant my username. (Since it ended in .id, I mistakenly said ID).

I just looked up my username, as if I were going to buy a new one. It said it was taken. When I backed out to my profiles page, my username, photo and verifications were restored. The timing may be coincidence, there. Perhaps it just takes some time?

I faced the same issue around the same period, but started facing the same issue all over again, despite hard refresh. (This happens when Chrome is incognito only/ Waited around 20 mins for the Keychain restore but UI didn’t respond at all)
