I trid to log in the other day and it said I logged out or need to setup blockstack. I never logged out, so maybe it was an update?
I’m unable to recover my account.
When I enter the recovery key and choose a password, the “Restore Keychain” button does not respond to input. I tried Safari, and the same thing happens.
As far as what logged you out, you likely cleared your localStorage where the account details are kept. If you wait and the keychain still doesn’t restore please add your voice to the issue above.
I copied it to a secure note in my password manager. I’ve used it before successfully, and now, it just hangs when I enter the password. It doesn’t tell me if the key is incorrect, wrong, broken, incomplete, etc.
I simply past the seed, and hit the button, and nothing happens. The button doesn’t respond to input.
If the seed is wrong, it should, at the very least, say “wrong key”. It does not do this.
Hi, if your wallet is empty and no identity registered in that account you can forget about it, try to open a new account and do logout and login before transferring balance to the wallet or registering an identity, it’s just an experiment… if everything works fine there is many chances that the problem is the password keychain.
My ID is verified and registered. I also have hooks to my crypto accounts and would prefer to remove my account, rather than just abandon it. Thankfully I don’t very much crypto in my Blockstack account, but what if I did? What if the App doesnt load using the seed I have copied? Then what?
I have NEVER had a problem copying, using, recovering wallets using seeds, until now. I’m very confident I didn’t fuck this up seeing how I’ve had to recover my account in the past after an update and it worked then, but not this time.
I noticed while trying to download the latest version, there was a “Web App*” option. I managed to log in successfully with my seed, however the site says that the webapp has “limited functionality.”
Oh my lord, a lot respect for your tolerance for frustration, I am not an expert and Blockstack team usually resolves this type of problems in the forum but you can contact them at [email protected], I have had some of your problems and restarting everything fix them… although I guess you have already done it but if you have time:
1/ Go to Blockstack Settings.
2/ Settings: Backup keychain (keep it as your life).
3/ Settings: Reset Browser.
4/ Clear Chrome browsing data.
5/ Restart computer.
6/ Launch Bolckstack and restore your account via your keychain.
@justin0xffffff I would recommend clearing your browser data and restoring your browser from your keychain if you’ve used your seed phrase in the past to successfully restore. Also, please be sure that you have the latest browser version installed. If you continue to have issues, feel free to reach out to [email protected] and we can troubleshoot further.
I was having trouble restoring my purchased ID after resetting my browser. Downloading the latest version fixed it for me. Thanks @sebastian for the link.
