I have been trying to set up my Blockstack account so that I can participate in the token sale and use the platform. I have verified by GitHub, Twitter, Facebook, HackerNews, Bitcoin and Etherium address. However, the system is saying that my identity is only 80% verified. I am also unable to select a username.

You should only need at most two social proofs to participate 
No username is required.
Getting a username for your ID costs BTC. You will need to fill the browser’s BTC wallet before you can get a username. Also, this feature does not (yet) work on Windows, if that’s the OS you’re using.
