Hi Stackers!
I’m reaching out for input and ideas to enhance the STX.ECO SIP voting platform.
Our current voting mechanism has some limitations, particularly around privacy and cost. Currently, voting reveals links between users’ balances, addresses, and voting choices. This is a common issue across many DAO and DeFi projects on most chains.
However, with advances in zk-STARK technology, we now have the opportunity to address these issues. zk-STARKs could enable private, off-chain voting that hides users’ balances and voting intentions, while eliminating transaction fees—making voting free for everyone.
I’m preparing a grant application to develop this idea, and I’d love your feedback on the approach. Do you have any misgivings about this approach? How do you think we can make zk-STARK-powered voting as robust and user-friendly as possible?
Thanks for any insights and suggestions!
