Exciting update from the Stacks core developers: the final code for the highly anticipated Nakamoto Upgrade will be delivered to network operators on August 28. Following this, the activation window will officially open, bringing us one step closer to this major milestone!

During this window, network operators will have Cycle 92 to upgrade. Pending a successful Signer handoff from Cycle 92 to 93, core devs will select the final hard fork block. More.

Nakamoto Release news: core developers further updated the test net with the latest stacks-core software Release Candidate 2. As they continue to work with builders, Signers, and others, they have decided to wait on picking a new block this week and instead plan to select one next week after they hard fork the Primary Stacks Testnet with this same rc2. Another milestone has just been passed for the Nakamoto Release, bringing us closing to fast blocks and Bitcoin finality on Mainnet. The Primary Testnet has been successfully hard-forked and is running the full Nakamoto release. What’s next? Core developers will observe stable behavior on Primary Testnet for at least 5 consecutive days and expect to select a Mainnet hard fork date after. More
