Right now, Blockstack provides the .id namespace for domain registration on the Bitcoin blockchain. Suppose this was replaced with a different blockchain, could there be a totally new .id namespace for that? So depending on the underlying blockchain, some_name.id will resolve differently?
Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the namespaces created in blockstack are independent of the blockchain they’re currently on. They’re built into the virtualchain which can migrate between blockchains if necessary without losing any data.
So I think the answer is no, some_name.id will resolve the same regardless of the blockchain it’s on
