Recover old wallets/keys from passphrase

Hi, is it possible to recover previously registered id’s (mikecohen.id and dharmadev.id) which are now orphaned in 0.20.1?

I have the passphrases but don’t think I have copies of the wallets - I don’t know if the portal backs the wallets up somewhere on upgrade?

I assume if I can recover the wallets / private keys I can then import the id’s linked to them using:

blockstack import

Is my understanding correct here? Any help much appreciated as this is blocking me from participating in the project and token sale etc.

Mike

I found a way to do this (portal version v0.20.1)

  1. settings / http://localhost:8888/account
  1. reset browser / http://localhost:8888/account/delete

Enter the 12 or 24 word passphrase and enter a password to encrypt the wallet.

This has picked up the basic name and after a few minutes my bitcoin balance showed up in the wallet. I’m still waiting for my profile info to show as shown in the explorer (see https://explorer.blockstack.org/address/13cuYFmbEnnL9CnRUNWRxVxSoVyc3QFKKd).

Is this something to do with my profile pointing to dropbox for storage and drop box being disabled in this version?

Thanks,

Mike

Hey @1HZp4man3vbMzaQAZmY6,

Glad you were able to figure this out! Your profile won’t show up on the explorer under the address, but under the Blockstack IDs you have. Example: https://explorer.blockstack.org/name/mikecohen.id
