Recommendations and best practices for finding support (October 2025 Update)

Hey Stackers! This is a simple post written to guide you as you look for support in the Stacks Ecosystem. As a decentralized ecosystem with many key contributors, navigating to the best place is a learned skill, but we hope this post will provide shortcuts on your way.

Start by going to the team that makes the thing you need help with

The fastest route to getting help is going straight to the source. All the top apps in the ecosystem have links on their websites that allow you to get directly in touch. Look for links to Discord, emails, help and doc centers, forms, or similar. It is often impossible for a general community member to help you with issues directly related to an application as they do not have access to it or knowledge of the inner workings.

Be careful about scams and DMs

When you seek support in public forums, this opens the door to scammers who will pose as customer service agents. Most likely, they are not legitimate representatives. Coinbase offers a good guide to avoiding scams that is worth familiarizing yourself with. When in doubt, stop engaging and look for more information from someone you trust.

Check docs and detailed instructions before reaching out

Typically, teams provide detailed information about their platforms and have a knowledge base or other documentation that will describe what you need. You can wait a few days to be referred back to this via social media, but a quick google or website search often yields what you need and saves everybody time and attention.

Be nice!

Teams are working hard to bring you great experiences and improve their offering all the time. Reaching out nicely while assuming best intent keeps the ecosystem a positive and rewarding place to be.
