Hi,
I am new here, trying to understand how blockstack works. Is blockstack an ID provider similar to Civic identity? When i clink on the apps, I see that the site is hosted on a central server, only identity seem to be on the locally on the blockstack. How are apps decentralized? Am I missing something here?

If the app is using Blockstack’s Gaia storage, then your data is decentralized as well. Gaia storage (right now) relies on your local Blockstack instance to store data. So the owner of that site does not have access to your data. You own it, but you are able to view it by visiting a regular old web app link rather than having to run an app locally, if that makes sense.
