hey, so is blockstack a startup or looking to profit on this? is there a software-foundation or similar to guide development of blockstack?
Hey Blockstack is an open community and software project and will have a foundation associated with it soon. Anyone can participate and any company can provide services for the Blockstack network. All of the Blockstack code is open source. Most of it is under the MIT license but Blockstack Core is under the GPLv3 license.
The main company pushing Blockstack forward at the moment is called Blockstack Inc., and I am affiliated with it along with others. This company is looking to provide additional services on top of the open source software and monetize those.
