How long does it take to get a LinkedIn account verified?

That’s about it.

Cheers

Nearly instantaneous if every think is correct.

Must be something wrong with mine then…

Thanks :):slightly_smiling_face:

Hey @trips, sorry to hear you’re having trouble!

With LinkedIn, you have to do the following:

  • make the post with the “Verifying my Blockstack ID …” text public
  • use your LinkedIn name as the proof identifier. You can find this by navigating to your LinkedIn profile page, and checking the URL. It should look like https://www.linkedin.com/in/{YOUR USERNAME HERE}.

However, we’re currently recommending against using LinkedIn, since we recently discovered a bug in one of the code libraries we use for social proof verification that inexplicably stops some LinkedIn pages from being processed correctly. HackerNews and GitHub are the easiest and most reliable, if you’re still stuck.

Thanks for the heads up !!

Hey Jude

So I’ve since tried Twitter and Hacker News…both are coming up as unverified…

Any other suggestions?

Cheers

Hi Jude,

I’d appreciate your help in manually verifying my Linkedin account (I don’t have the others your recommend):

Hey @1FuDsRgFKHSNMYw9zTWq,

Can you try the following?

Thanks – I just updated the URL in my LinkedIn post (and it automatically shortened it). I am unable to change my LinkedIn name to: leeschwing OR is there another spot where you are suggesting that I change my identifier to leeschwing?

On the identities page in the Blockstack browser, you should have a a proof URL and an identifier field for the LinkedIn social proof. The proof URL field needs to be set to https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6331743189761916928, and the identifier field needs to be set to leeschwing.

Hey @trips, can you post your ID-address? I can take a look at your social proofs.

Hi Jude,

OK – I just inserted the link you requested into my LinkedIn public post.

I was also checking my “identifer” and find that it is:

Enhance your personal brand by creating a custom URL for your LinkedIn public profile.

www.linkedin.com/in/leeschwing

Hi @1FuDsRgFKHSNMYw9zTWq,

We removed LinkedIn in the latest browser release because it has proven too unreliable. I can help you with a different social proof option if you’d like
