Feed - microblogger & social networking utility

Hi all,

My name is Daniel and this past week I released a Blockstack app called Feed. It is a micro-blogging and social networking utility that lets you share 500-character statuses with the world. It uses Blockstack for authentication and Gaia for storing user posts.

You can find it here: https://www.feed-app.net

Posts are publicly shareable with permalinks, so you can share Feed posts on other sites. You can also search for other users and their Feed by Blockstack ID. You can find me here, for example: https://www.feed-app.net/daanderson

I started working on Feed back in January after deciding I wanted move my social media life off of the de-facto providers. Being a developer, I decided to craft the kind of social media experience I wanted to see in the world. After a lot of initial research in blockchain-based solutions, I chose Blockstack.

In the interest of transparency I’ve released the source code publicly. You can find it here: https://github.com/knaut/feed

You can find out more about me and my work at http://smallinvisiblemachines.com/.

Best & enjoy

where is logout?

“There is just you, your content, and the people you connect with” - this is cool but apart from searching for a specific ID, how do you connect with people?

And yup, logout button would be good too

Thanks for the feedback!

I released a fix for signing out. Logged in users can now sign out from the home page (e.g. http://feed-app.net)

There is a long feature list for Feed that is planned to be rolled out in succession. This first release is a micro-blogging app, but that’s a subset of a broader vision. Collecting and curating other Feed users is near or at the top of the list for the next feature release.
