I am fairly new to the Blockstack setup, and would like to ask:
When I signup for a new blockstack ID, does it need to be renewed?
If yes, and somebody else registers under the same name, will they have access to my data?

Yes, it needs to be renewed. I believe it’s around every two years. @josephfoboyle.id has a cool ID calculator that shows you when it expires and also has a renew feature.
And if someone new comes in and takes your ID because you didn’t renew your ID they wouldn’t have access to the data since you’d be storing your data in a separate location under different private keys.

If you have a blockstack ID that ends in .id.blockstack, it does not expire.
