2. Key Meeting Highlights

Ecosystem Updates - by Brandon

  • Strong Stacks representation at DevConnect Buenos Aires, with successful events like meet and greets, a builders conference, and a hacker house.

  • High interest in Stacks narrative, particularly concepts like Bitcoin finality and dual stacking and Proof-of-Transfer, which sparked many “lightbulb moments.”

  • Engaging Livestream Content: Kenny and Eric, along with PeaceLove’s DeOrganized Media, produced dynamic livestream content throughout DevConnect. The content was well-received on the call, effectively conveying the event’s energy and allowing for broader access and engagement through replay options. This approach marked a significant improvement in capturing and sharing event experiences with the community in and outside of Stacks.

Builder Updates

  • Rafa’s FakFun project breakthrough with Runes protocol using Clarity as an oracle, enabling pegging in without bridge or custodians and one-block Bitcoin deposits. A webinar on Sunday is planned to explain the technology.

  • Victor’s Insights: Victor highlighted the challenges builders face in managing marketing and development simultaneously. He discussed his hybrid crowdfunding solution for media creators and emphasized the need for structured testing support. Victor also expressed interest in the Community Marketing WG’s potential support for builders.

Marketing Education & Collaboration opportunities

  • High Demand for Marketing 101 Education: Brandon and Kate conducted a Marketing 101 session at the Hacker House, which included a 30-minute presentation and an hour and a half of Q&A, highlighting the strong demand from builders eager to learn and implement marketing strategies. There maybe plans to offer similar multiple sessions virtually to meet this demand.

  • Common technical builder pain points acknowledged by Rafa and Victor, including the challenge of simultaneously building and marketing effectively. Distribution is key, but execution often lacks consistency.

  • Recommended social media tools / tips and strategies:

    • Brandon highly recommends “Typefully” for drafting and scheduling social media posts, can even set access permission for collaborators.

    • X “Account delegation” for team-based social media management, recommended by HeroGamer, used in Stacks AI Guild. Emphasis on a “divide and conquer” approach to leverage complementary skills within a team when building.

Testers & Feedback

  • Incentivized Testing Initiative: Brandon asked Hero Gamer to share his initiative in response to Victor highlighting builders’ challenges with marketing and testing. HeroGamer emphasized the need for quality testers and the fragmented nature of current testing approaches. Kate expressed support for the incentivized testing initiative, highlighting the potential benefits of a structured tester group in providing valuable feedback to builders.

    • Proposed Framework: An ecosystem funding approach for incentivized testing was suggested, featuring a verified tester pool and a bounty-based feedback system.

    • Pilot Programs: HeroGamer announced 2 pilot bounty programs launching this week with Bitflow and Stackspot, using the ZeroAuthority bounty platform for feedback.
