I asked

whats the canonical name for your identity solution? blockstack id, blockchain id, onename id, […] profile?

in Slack and @guy had an interesting point, so I guess it’s useful when the rest of this discussion happens in the forum or at least the “discussion” gets saved here :slight_smile:

I call it a “blockchain ID” because it’s possible to make these IDs without using software called “Blockstack”. Blockstack is just one implementation of the blockchain ID concept.

I call it Blockstack ID.

If I do call it blockchain ID, I’m specifically referring to the Blockstack implementation and any compatible implementations.

I feel we should think about the “Blockstack ID” as the standard for identity on any blockchain. We’ve been working with the folks at Consensus and Microsoft on this standard as well.

For me, it’s a Blockstack ID.
