I’ve seen some B2C examples on the homepage, but I was wondering if this could be used for developer-oriented services, and other B2B software.
For example, I’m working on a service called FormAPI, which makes it easy for programmers to generate PDFs from existing templates or HTML/CSS. It would be great if I could accept payment via Bitcoin microtransactions for each individual PDF, instead of sending one invoice at the end of the month. The identity piece is very cool as well.
Would Blockstack be a good fit for this case? (I just found out about it today, so I’m not familiar with how everything works.)
Thanks!
Hi @ndbroadbent,
First of all, your app is really slick! I love how quickly it generates a PDF from form submission. There are a ton of great use cases for this, so best of luck to you no matter the route you take.
From my perspective (and granted, my perspective is still in infantile stages re: Blockstack), any service can benefit and run on Blockstack. However, you have to decide what you want as the builder of the software.
- Are you only looking to accept payment in bitcoin? There are plenty of other ways to do that.
- Do you want to allow your users to truly own their data? Blockstack is right for you.
- Do you want to be able to set up email marketing campaigns and target users based on what they are doing in your app? Blockstack is probably not right for you.
- Do users need to share their data (not just the final PDF generated) with other users across logins? Blockstack can still be a solution for you, but not yet (see documentation on storage here).
Again, no matter what you do, I’m really impressed with your app. Nice work!
