1. Agenda Overview

  • AIBTC order system and the X402 protocol
  • Agent Registry & Reputation System Development
  • Stacks Ecosystem x402 API Strategy
  • Future Agent Economy Vision
  • Implementations & Security

2. Key Meeting Highlights

AIBTC order system and the X402 protocol

  • The AIBTC “order” system has successfully processed 593 submissions, showcasing the growing adoption of the AI BTC’s “ORDER” functionality.
  • The protocol is aligned with A16z Andreessen Horowitz’s micropayments use cases report, emphasizing its relevance as a top AI crypto use case.
  • Stablecoin payments are preferred due to the need for predictable costs in LLM services and to avoid conversion and tax complications, especially for services like OpenAI and Anthropic.

Agent Registry & Reputation System Development

  • Development of a cross-chain reputation database is underway, with the ERC 8004 standard proposed but not yet implemented.
  • A major challenge is verifying off-chain performance on-chain, with Eigenlayer (https://x.com/eigencloud / https://x.com/eigen_da )mentioned as a potential solution through its restaking protocol security, ensure that off-chain data can be reliably verified without data being altered or manipulated.
  • The concept of proof of existence via fingerprints was raised by @Whoabuddy and discussed, involving hashing system prompts, user prompts, and results for open-source verification.

Stacks Ecosystem x402 API Strategy

  • The strategy focuses on developing Stacks-specific x402 APIs initially, with plans to expand to Bitcoin.
  • Proposed API categories include AI inference and compute, data oracles, Stacks explorer calls, and service monitoring.
  • Could integration with Rafa’s BTC→SBTC onboarding flow
  • With potential to launch a bounty to encourage API development and distribution through platforms like a “Stacks x402 scan” - equivalent of x402scan on Base & Solana (more chains to be added).

Future Agent Economy Vision

  • The vision involves evolving from simple API calls to full task agents, with a discovery layer for finding specialized agents.
  • An example discussed was UGC (User-Generated Content) content creation, where a general agent with a budget discovers and pays a specialized UGC agent for expert services.
  • Trading agents are showing early promise on Base, with a salary model versus percentage-based compensation, and fine-tuned models outperforming general LLMs.

Implementations & Security

  • The facilitator role is critical, likened to a “Costco receipt checker”, ensuring payment verification and preventing malicious behavior.
  • Deterministic LLM responses are needed for verification, with current tools potentially integrating X402 charging.
  • Agentic swaps through JingCash peer-to-peer matching and zero-fee agent matching with an X402-paid matching engine were discussed.

:speech_balloon: Key Speakers Insights

Tony: Explained the X402 protocol’s three-player system and the role of the facilitator in settling payments and verifying transactions. And the current trend of stablecoin payments is due to predictable costs in LLM services and avoiding conversion complications.

Rafa: Highlighted the integration of BTC→SBTC onboarding flow and the potential for API development within the Stacks ecosystem.

TripnMonkey: Used a Costco analogy (special shoutout! Listen to recording timestamp 37.45~39:50 for this great analogy) to illustrate the criticalness in the facilitator’s role in ensuring payment verification and preventing malicious behavior.

Whoabuddy: Discussed the X402 protocol’s technical aspects and potential applications, emphasizing the development of tools and APIs for Stacks and Bitcoin integration. Highlighted the need for a reliable agent registry and mentioned using fingerprints for verification.

Publius: Emphasized aligning around standards like X402 for micropayments to boost the AI BTC ecosystem, referencing the A16z micropayments track. Encouraged collaboration and offered support to builders.

Cedar: Expressed interest in sBTC’s role in X402 and explored integrating X402 into the “weekly order” system.

Things to Celebrate

  • Successful completion of 593 submissions through the AIBTC order system.
  • Growing interest and development in the X402 protocol and agent economy.
  • Continued idea sharing, collaboration and innovation within the AI BTC community.
